The Partnership Fund at the Chinese-Georgia Economic and Trade Support Conference

The Partnership Fund management took part in Chinese-Georgia Economic and Trade Support Conference held under the auspices of the Silk Road Forum at the Raddison Blu Iveria Hotel in Tbilisi. David Saganelidze, CEO of the Partnership Fund held business meeting with the delegation of the Chinese’s Shanxi Province, which is interested in cooperation opportunities with Georgia. The Delegation was invited personally by David Saganelidze during a visit by the Georgian delegation to Shanxi province in May, 2015. Saganelidze was the head of the delegation. While speaking at the conference David Saganelidze spoke about the potential bilateral cooperation between the two countries and underlined that for strengthening cultural and tourism relations between Chanxi province and Georgia, concrete steps need to be made. He also touched upon the importance for Georgia to know more about China’sexperience in the agriculture and other sectors. "It has been two weeks since I was appointed the CEO of the Partnership Fund, which owns the state’s large-scale assets to support business and therefore supports strengthening the country’s economy. I hope, that I will overcome the challenges successfully with you,” Saganelidze said. In his opinion the governmental support for launching direct flights between Shanxi and Georgia would be very important. Saganelidze also spoke about the importance of Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, sayingthat today’s conference is the first step forwards making Georgia one of the key strategic countries for the new Silk Road.
