The executive director of the "Development Fund of Georgia", Besik Bugianishvili, took part in the World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum, in Xi'an, Shansi Province, China.
Besik Bugianishvili addressed the audience and said that President Xi's introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative, also known as the One Belt, One Road concept, has been a transformative force in driving international cooperation and connectivity across the Eurasian continent. He emphasized the strategic role of Georgia in the development of the Silk Road and noted that a Digital Silk Road will unlock new avenues of progress and prosperity for all participating nations.
“Today, as the world embraces the digital revolution, my country is eager to build upon its historic role and contribute to the establishment of a modern, technologically advanced Digital Silk Road. We believe that by leveraging our strategic geographic position and proactively investing in digital infrastructure, Georgia can emerge as an important hub for digital connectivity, data flows, and e-commerce between Europe and Asia. I look forward to exploring potential areas of collaboration and partnership that can further strengthen the ties and drive sustainable development in the digital realm”- said Besik Bugianishvili
The World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum hosted by the World Internet Conference and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province was held in Xi'an on April 16. This is the first time that the international organization of the World Internet Conference has held a thematic forum on the "Digital Silk Road".
